I've been the same way, my entire life.

Even since I was a little boy, being empathic, I could always sense when people (adults) were lying... and it was always.

Just doing the math, figuring things out and seeing things out exponentially and you didn't need to be a rocket scientist or mathematician to know that the way society was progressing, that population, resource consumption and automation and technological advances would make it so that time didn't exactly equal money in the traditional sense of labor vs. money. On top of that, I would argue that one person's worth of 15 minutes or an hour didn't necessarily equal that of another person's equal time, especially when that person worked 20 or 50 times harder.

If this smug attitude of "work smarter, not harder" was adopted by EVERYONE, then there would be nobody to cut your lawns, cook your food, remove your trash and instead, everyone would flake out and become motivational speakers, yoga instructors or similar.

But instead, one of the worst qualities of man (second to vanity that drives it) is greed. Even those who state that they have no "ulterior motives" are often driven by something if when looked at closely, is exactly that... personal interest and self preservation (the "I got mine" mentality).

The ONLY thing that makes sense... and this one really spins my mind... is that there is a creator (God) and purpose to this all. That if this is merely a simulation, then it is as f'd up as playing the SIMS and locking one of them in a room with no bathroom, food or way out, for sheer sadistic humor and entertainment.

Looking at nature, DNA, the elements, electricity and other phenomena and no... God is greater than anything man or woman can comprehend. If anything, we truly are facsimiles of that creator, but because we lack specific information that has been hidden from us (and replaced with misinformation and half truths) we aren't able to be the complete beings we are to evolve into it would seem (again, would seem).

On the other hand, the way things are right now, might all be scripted, for what reason and I would never bother to guess anymore as "What ifs" are like puppies and unicorns at this point, a distraction from reality.

I'm not a pessimist, I see MUCH beauty in the world around me, on social media and more. Sometimes, before I close my eyes to sleep at night, I'll ask to see what is going on around the world at that exact moment and it's quite fascinating.

How many people are giving birth at that moment and how many are dying.

How many are having sex or crying because they are alone.

How many are buying a coffee and just starting their day, while many of us are going to bed and sleeping here after 2AM til whenever.

Who is cooking and eating (I saw billions in Asia and India last night, it's mind boggling as to how much chicken and fish that gets consumed, daily) and who is lacking proper food and care at the same time.

Who is dancing, creating art, writing music, poetry and more.

And the point of it is, there are trillions, upon trillions, upon trillions of events going on (not to mention what is happening nature, the insect, animal and aquatic kingdoms) concurrently, at any given moment... and then if you enter in the "possibility and most likely) spiritual, inter-dimensional and/or subterranean or extraterrestrial worlds and man, there is A LOT of f'ing activity happening on this one hot spot (possibly the ONLY spot) in what we are told is a solar system, galaxy or universe.

For me, I won't limit myself in thinking that this is the ONLY place for life in the entire meta of all things (God's mind or metaconsciousness), as I wouldn't presume to try and out think God, nor think that anything I believe is true (even our eyesight and hearing is limited to a certain range of vibration and spectrum wavelengths) and even now, I am only pondering all of these things.

What I will say, that I truly believe in my heart IS the objective (and why pain is allowed for us to steer away from anything less than or the antithesis of) is to learn what love is. That is, LOVE IS THE ONLY CURRENCY. It is a sacrifice at times, where time doesn't equal money and effort isn't rewarded as such. Love is about going beyond and serving all others, in order to serve the greater purpose, while at the same time, serving oneself beyond lesser, carnal and banal things.

That's it, I'm done... but I have a sense and understanding of where you are at OP as my son is starting college in a week, on scholarship and with many good things in his current life, but I don't see the next 2, 5, 10 or 20 years as being a good period for many on this planet, of any age, at the current rate of things and current event of things, let alone, the internet and A.I. of things at this very moment.

I pray, and have faith and knowing, that God is ultimately in charge, can't be fooled and ALL will be revealed in a manner that will enlighten everyone... Selah.

To me, when a nations government does to the Amish what ours did just a couple of weeks back then it's time to be fucking DEPRESSED. I’m sure your busy (who isn’t), but you should have time to listen to some audiobooks while you do all that you need to do. Some books you should check out (spiritual related, but not Christian only): “The Four Agreements”, “The Power of Now”, “The Mind Control Method (by Jose Silva)”, “The essence of the upanishads (by Eknath Easwaren)”. Your mind/heart not being in it, is honestly your greatest enemy at this moment. Our mind/thoughts are SO much more powerful than we are led to believe, and you are using that power to keep in the place you hate so much.

The world is utterly crazy, no denying that. However, we are SO much more than a human body and we are capable of so much more. It’s very possible to carve out a little bit of happiness in these troubling times, but you have to use the tools that are hidden from us (chiefly, the mind!).

Besides my own personal growth, I endeavor to raise my child with these practices, so that it is a part of her life always, rather than having to be learned at a latter time due to stress/trauma like most of us.

If you want to get help, have faith that you will find the help you need. I suspect you have some faith, as I’m sure it’s what lead you to make this thread. Pour through the responses, find that which resonates (as far as actions), and take steps to complete those actions. Happiness (especially during these times) doesn’t come free, it takes work and commitment to experience happiness on the regular, which means doing many things our ego’s rail against doing, but the ego is selfish and only seeks short term fulfillment, leading eventually to the place you find yourself OP.
