I gain no benefit from watching other people earn a living, and even less if I am paying money out of my own pocket to do so.

Sports are like that. I get nothing out of paying to watch someone else work. I would rather go to the grocery store and purchase a steak, take it home and cook it for myself, than put that money in someone else' pocket. It might be different if I was playing on, or owned the team, but that isn't the case.

Watching sports adds no additional benefit to my life.

Why invest in something that has no direct benefit to me whatsoever? I would rather be fishing or hunting. At least then, if I catch some fish or shoot a deer, I have something to take home and utilize for the time and effort I put in.
