How To Remove Negative Items From Your Credit Report
the pandemic left alotta ppl's finances in the shitter, this might be a way to help begin fixing your credit.

u cant remove negative items from your credit report unless the information listed is incorrect. if the entry is an error u can file a dispute with the 3 major crt bureaus to have it removed, but the info will remain on your report for 7 years if its accurate.

review your credit report to locate the negative items entry.
investigate the entry to confirm it is inaccurate.
choose a dispute method (online, phone or mail) if the info is not accurate.
file ur dispute via the chosen method.
wait for the results (30 - 45 days).

if the info is correct n you pay off the outstanding debt, you can then ask the lender via phone or in writing to make a goodwill adjustment, removn the derogatory mark from ur crt report. although the lender is under no legal obligation to do it generally goodwill requests are successful in many cases.

the ffair crt reportn act (FCRA) entitles u to dispute inaccurate items on your credit reports.

the ideal outcome is to remove enough negative items to give your crt score a boost.

upon receipt of a crt report dispute the crt reportn company has 30 days to investigate theyll fwd disputes to the original debtor that furnished the info. the debtor will review the crt report dispute n report back to the crt reportn bureau.

if the debtor finds that the info was inaccurate it must notify that fact to all 3 crt bureaus n req its removal. the crt reportn bureau will report the results in writing to u n send you a new copy of your report if any items were corrected or removed.

you can DIY crt repair by ordering ur 3 credit reports from AnnualCreditReport.com a source of free crt reports authd by the federal govt. ull need all 3 reports (1 from each crt bureau. experian transUnion n equifax) bc creditors may report transactions to only 1 or 2 crt bureaus.

after receiving the reports u review the 4 sections for errors

identification: information identifying yourself, inclg ur address, date of birth, n soc sec #.

tradelines: this contains ur account data which incls ur use of crt n ur borrowing activity. the data incls loan n credit account balances, pmt history, n a collection account or a charge-off.

public records: court info re adverse legal judgments, bankruptcies, liens, foreclosures, vehicle repos, n money owed for child support.

inquiries: hard inquiries are those u authorize a credit provider to make when you apply for a crt card or loan. these can lower ur credit score. unauthorized soft inquiries have no impact on ur score.

if u come across inaccurate info, file a dispute w/the crt bureaus website

u should 1st req a debt validation letter from the collector verifying it has accurate info about ur debt.

if you dont recognize or agree with the debt in question u can req the collector to prove u legally owe the money. if it cant provide proof it must drop its collection account request. this wont automatically remove the item from your crt report but you can req that as part of the dispute.

heres some sample templates
[link to www.consumerfinance.gov (secure)]

creditors are under no obligation to remove negative info from ur crt reports when u pay off a delinquent debt. however, if you enter a pmt plan, you can enter an arrangement for them to report to the bureaus as 'paid as agreed'.

debt collectors arent the only ones with time limits.

u got just 30 days from the date you recv the validation letter to dispute all or part of the debt. if you fail to dispute the debt in that time the debt collector is entitled to consider the debt valid.

some debts may be too old to collect on

one of the recommendations for what to include in ur verification letter is a request to be provided with the age of the debt. the age of the debt may really be one of the most important pieces of info u recv from the debt collector.

thats bc most types of debt are subject to a statute of limitations which is the legal time frame during which the debt collector must begin legal action. once the statute of limitations has expired the debt collector can no longer sue u to recover the debt (tho they can still contact you to try n collect).

the actual SOL for a given debt will vary based on both the type of debt and the state where u live. in general, debts are broken down into 4 types: written contracts, oral contracts, promissory notes, n open-ended accounts.

while it can vary by state, the SOL countdown generally begins when the account becomes delinquent, so typically thats when it reaches 30dys past due.

No, you send them a registered letter demanding proof of all claims layed against you in the form of an itemized true bill in commerce with a 30 day window.

Failure to provide proof in the 30 days will result in in civil litigation of slander suit.

Include a financial penalty if negative unfounded claims are made.

Everything just disappears.

Remember the bank, credit card agency, or who lent you your own credit in the first place.

Bankers lie.

I will add to this:

The credit reporting agencies (and there are three of them, you have to check them all and challenge each of them) have only 30 days to investigate your challenge and make a decision on it. If they can't do that in time, the challenged item has to be removed, under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Further if a challenged item is not removed, you are able to add a 100 word statement explaining the negative information.

Example: Let's say there is an eviction case on your litigation section. They won't take it off. But you can add a 100 word statement explaining it from your perspective that creditors might care about. So you could add that the eviction case was against your roommate, you were only named as an "occupant," there is no money judgment against you, and it was not you who didn't pay the rent. Things that make it sound better for you.

Theres a better way, dont use credit period, there are 3 agencies for a reason, you try to fix something with one the other keeps the crap on your record and they keep tossing you around like a rotten potato.

I get it life happens or people make mistakes, but working within the system is not the answer, because just from your post you can tell the the onus is on the borrower, the creditor is not obliged to release your or fix your record, they have the money bought the courts and have every reason to keep you fucked in bad faith.

Waste your time and health to jump through their hoops is a recipe for ruin, chances are if you have a dodgy history you deserve your suffering and if your a victim of fraud or something that put you in such a situation its because karmically your deserve it as well. God sends the fraudster and the thief because you owe something, theirs no escape. Suffering is a way to pay back what you owe, so accept it and move on, stop stealing defrauding people and your debts will solve themselves.

What about late payment forgiveness? A late payment can wreck your credit. You can write a sob story email to the bank asking for forgiveness on a late payment. Probably just a one-time deal.

THIS^^^^

I did it the easy way, though, and just disputed everything online in the 3 credit report websites. It was about fifteen years ago, after a really rough financial year involving a spouse who had a substance abuse issue and was a major liar.

First I got rid of said spouse... then I went to the report and there's an area that shows each credit card or loan that is being reported. I just typed in the response area something like, "I'm not sure this is even my credit card information. Are you sure this is me?" Two days later my solid wall of red was a solid wall of green and my credit score was about 130 points higher.

Here's why:
The creditors are required by law to do one of two things, either 1) reverse the claim against you so that the report reverts to 'green', or, 2) open an investigation to find all physical paperwork of your original application for credit and tie the charges to your account. Which choice saves them more money? They don't even have the paperwork anymore.

I'll tell you, it changed my life to have a higher credit score. It was a simple process but it was hard to do because I was so beat down from financial depression and PTSD. I had to really force myself through the process. But so worth the effort.

This is great info. However, I don't care anymore about

my credit report. I'm fine without having CC's.

And my bank and other banks keep sending me those

"You qualify" advertisements ALL THE TIME.

And all the CR's got from me is medical bills.

Of which I have a $2850.00 deductible. THAT WAS ALL I

WAS SUPPOSED TO PAY AFTER CATISTROPHIC ILLNESS!!!!

But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, last year they sent

me a $3000 bill for a CT scan.

This year they sent another $3000 for a ct scan and

other bills like, $300 here, $500 there and an

ambulance ride costed another $2000.

I can't pay that, I'm trying to survive here.

If they let me make pmts on the deductible, I would

have done that. But now this?

I'm done with this crap...
Living has taught me one thing; nothing is certain...except salvation through Jesus Christ!

Here is a gimmie, write any third party debt collector who claims you owe them money. Thank them for assuming responsibility for this debt without any obligation to do so. Then offer to pay any legal amount ‘as previously agreed’ to these Leeches. In absence of such you require them to remove any incorrect info regarding ‘this mattter’.

Of course you never agreed to anything with a third party debt collector and you just made a good faith offer to pay any debt that can be validated. It can’t of course.
You can research there are groups on Fair Debt Credit Procesures Act issues or If they continue to hassle google fdcra lawyers they work for a percentage.

up to 1500 bucks PER ILLEGAL CALL by pushy debt collectors?
Let the games begin.

mudh beter to just pay cash for everything. families should live together until the children are self sufficient and able to pay for their own home in cash....or like they do in germany live in a family house, where there are separate households hnder the same roof, bu in separate and private areas/apartments....or separate houses on a parcel of land, like your own compound.

one of the recommendations for what to include in ur verification letter is a request to be provided with the age of the debt. the age of the debt may really be one of the most important pieces of info u recv from the debt collector.

thats bc most types of debt are subject to a statute of limitations which is the legal time frame during which the debt collector must begin legal action. once the statute of limitations has expired the debt collector can no longer sue u to recover the debt (tho they can still contact you to try n collect).

the actual SOL for a given debt will vary based on both the type of debt and the state where u live. in general, debts are broken down into 4 types: written contracts, oral contracts, promissory notes, n open-ended accounts.

while it can vary by state, the SOL countdown generally begins when the account becomes delinquent, so typically thats when it reaches 30dys past due.

Re: How To Remove Negative Items From Your Credit Report
I learned something many years ago from an attorney friend of mine…if you are ever confronted by a third party debt collector, do NOT tell them that you will not pay…tell them to provide proof of the debt and you WILL pay it..do that in writing and then watch what happens…for the most part the third party buyers of debt do not have that…
Sorry, that message is no longer in the database.
