A rough estimation for how old creation is since the first day using biblical logic.
Genesis 6:3-5
King James Version
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not

always strive with man, for that he also

is flesh: yet his days shall be an

hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in

those days; and also after that, when

the sons of God came in unto the

daughters of men, and they bare children

to them, the same became mighty men

which were of old, men of renown.

5 And God saw that the wickedness of man

was great in the earth, and that every

imagination of the thoughts of his heart

was only evil continually.

This sets the precedent for how long

each generation can span after the

flood.

Prior to the flood men lived in excess

of 900 years prior to death. so the

generations prior to the flood span a

much much longer time period.

In the creation account, we are told

that God created the earth and all that

is in it in 6 days.On the 6th day God

created man.

Genesis 5:5
King James Version
5 And all the days that Adam lived were

nine hundred and thirty years: and he

died.

Genesis 6
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not

always strive with man, for that he also

is flesh: yet his days shall be an

hundred and twenty years.

Genesis 9
28 And Noah lived after the flood three

hundred and fifty years.

29 And all the days of Noah were nine

hundred and fifty years: and he died.

Peter 3:8-9
King James Version
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this

one thing, that one day is with the Lord

as a thousand years, and a thousand

years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his

promise, as some men count slackness;

but is longsuffering to us-ward, not

willing that any should perish, but that

all should come to repentance.

So according to scripture, before man

arrived on the earth since God began

creation 5000 years had already passed.

Man was created on the 6th day or, as it

would be, the 6000th year.

The 7000th year, God rested from all His

labor. So the 7th day of creation God

rested. 1 day to God is 1000 years.

From this, we know that adam died in the

year 6000.

Genesis 2:17
“But of the tree of the knowledge of

good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:

for in the day that thou eatest thereof

thou shalt surely die.”

The 6000th year, when man was created,

was but one day to God. Adam didn't live

past that day, because he only lived 930

years. In man's time frame from a human

perspective, God would not yet rest yet

at year 7000 for another 70 years.

The entire span God rested was one day

or 1000 years.

From adam until noah, each generation

lasted nearly 1000 years in total.

After the flood, God set the age of a

generation at 120 years.

Moses lived to be 120 years old.

Noah was Adam's great-great-great-

great-great-great-great grandson.

Adam was 930 years old when he died

(Genesis 5:5), and his children and

grandchildren shared similarly long life

spans. Not counting Enoch, the ten

patriarchs who were born before the

Great Flood of Noah’s time lived an

average of 900 years. Adam’s son Seth

lived to be 912 years (Genesis 5:9).

Lamech, Noah’s father, died the youngest

at age 777 (Genesis 5:31); and

Methuselah, Noah’s grandfather, lived

the longest. He died at age 969 (Genesis

5:27). If Adam had lived a mere century

longer, he would have been alive for the

birth of Noah.

After the flood, the average human life

span began to shrink drastically. The

post-flood patriarchs from Noah’s son

Shem (who died at 600) to Peleg (who

died at 239) lived an average of 435

years. By Abraham’s time, humans were

living less than 200 years. In the days

of Moses, who was considered very old

when he died at 120, the average person

lived only to age 70 or 80: “The years

of our life are seventy, or even by

reason of strength eighty” (Psalm 90:10,

ESV). [link to www.gotquestions.org (secure)]

What we call the fifth chapter of

Genesis calls itself "the book of the

generations of Adam." We might

paraphrase this as "the people generated

by Adam" (all male, incidentally). In

other words, this is Adam's family tree.

Here are the ages of Adam and his

descendants, as listed in this chapter:

Adam 930 years (70)

Seth 912 years (88)

Enos 905 years (95)

Cainan (or Kenan) 910 years (90)

Mahalaleel 895 years (105)

Jared 962 years (38)

Enoch 365 years (635)

Methuselah 969 years (31)

Lamech 777 years (223)

Noah 950 years (50)

Adding up the life span of all of the

patriachs from Adam to Noah gleans us

8575 years.

Add 5000 to that for the 5 years prior

to God creating man and we then have

13,575 years since God began creation

upon earth until Noah died.

We don't count the 6 and 7th day because

God created man on the 6th day. it's

already included in the count so we only

add 5 days to the total not 6 and/or 7.

5 days equal 5000 years.

How Many Human Generations Are There

from Adam Until Today?

In Luke 3, we even have a full biblical

lineage from Adam to Jesus through

notable progenitors, like Noah, Shem,

Abraham, David, and Joseph (Mary’s

husband), who was only the supposed

father of Jesus (Luke 3:23). The full

genealogy from Adam to Jesus was 76

clearly listed generations, and from

Noah to Jesus, it was 66.

However, A generation prior to the flood

was nearly a 1000 year span. After the

flood it went down to 120.

To find out how old Creation is at this time we are currently alive, we need to add 13,575 years to the number of years since Noah's death until now.

A rough estimate of how many years Jesus was born after the flood is 2000 years, so we add that to the 13,574 years for a total of 15,574. However, Noah was only 600 when the flood came and he lived to be 950 years old, so we minus 350 from that to get 15,224

Then we calculate how many years since Jesus died till now and add that time. to that.

Since our current time is kept as AD meaning After Death (of Jesus) and it is 2022, then we add 2022 to the total above, adding 33 year for the time Jesus lived until the age of death to get an approximation for how old creation is upon earth.

2055 + 15,224 = 17,246

By these estimates, Creation is 17,000 years old give or take and man has been upon the earth for 12,000 of those years give or take, if you minus the 5 days for creation preceding mans arrival, which according to the timeline of God each day is 1000 years.

So, for God, Creation is only a little over 16 or 17 days old at the time we are now alive, if one day to God is as a 1000 years.

In human terms....mankind isn't even considered an adult yet if we account 1000 years being one day for God.

The important aspect to remember is what constitutes a generation both now as apposed to the times prior to Noah's death.

How Long is a Generation? In high level terms, a generation is defined as a body of individuals who are born and living in about the same time in society. The accepted amount of time varies depending on the source and can range from 20 to 35 years or thereabouts. [link to yourdna.com (secure)]

Because Noah and most of those who lived prior to the flood had and average age of about 800 years, then a generation spanned a much greater length of time then, than is true for human kind today.

It's a rough spit ball of an argument....... I don't claim it is fact, I am just attempting to glean a rough estimate based upon the content I shared.

I am sure there are oversights I missed or calculate wrong, but in estimation of the age of creation I believe it to be somewhere in the ballpark using these figures.

I suggest you read Ancient Post Flood History by Dr. Ken Johnson Thd. He is a biblical historian and scholar and has an accurate date for you that takes many scholarly works into account, not just a Bible. You’re off by about 10,000 years since this creation cycle. Sorry chap.

Re: A rough estimation for how old creation is since the first day using biblical logic.
You are off because you are adding up the life span of each of the individuals of the linage, not the age of the individual at the time of the birth of the next in the linage.

Adam was 130 when he had Seth, so from Adam to Seth is 130, then Seth had Enos when he was 105.

So from Adam to the birth of Enos would have been 235 years, your calculation puts the birth of Enos at year 1842 because you are adding 930 and 912, instead of 130 and 105.
