to use walking as a form of transportation, from point A to point B is absurd, the amount of goddamn car dodging, if you try walking 20 minutes to your job or something, the amount of fucking cars you have to encounter is absolutely insane. There is a REASON nobody ever walks anywhere. I know they do try to provide paths, they do a pretty good job, it's just crossing fucking roads, you have to cross the road a lot if you do any sort of serious transportation via walking and who the fuck really wants to walk along busy roads, where you're being exposed and see by thousands of people who are watching you through their one way mirror tinted windows, they don't even want to be seen in their cars

We walk through our city just fine, but there isn’t much crime. It’s dependent on where you live. Travel an hour south and there is no way I would walk through Portland at night, few hours north, no way I would walk through Seattle.

But to say america doesn’t have walkable cities is not a factual statement.

Not walkable here due to traffic. No sidewalks even. You’d be roadkill ASAP.

I couldn't walk where I lived in the US, lack of sidewalks was the biggest issue. I walk most of the time where I live in Colombia though, haven't taken my car out of the garage in a few weeks. Good sidewalks everywhere, they even have a ridged tile down the center for the blind to follow and lots of bike paths.
If I had a dollar for every time I got suspicious...

I'd wonder who was paying me, and why?

I walk around at night in Chicago all the time. Nobody fucks with me, then again I’m not a little bitch that’s scared to walk around my own area.

If you’re that scared, carry a gun or knife and fuck em up if you get attacked.

Or, hide in your fuckin house like a bitch.

Why would you live in such a city? I absolutely refuse to live anywhere that is less than 90% white. If everyone else had this staunch approach, the problem would be solved quickly. You're risking your life living anywhere with any significant number of coloreds. Once they reach some critical threshold the jungle behavior becomes socially acceptable and even encouraged.

I walk my dog and goats (sometimes the cat or turkey follows) around on my own 15 wooded acres. Life is damn good. No cars or fat people in my way until I need to go to town. Then it's especially hard because I'm so insulated from their madness the other 23.5 hours a day.
