Which is odd, because they claim 100% of the missiles were shot down.”

Russians online have been talking about something called a “Predator Drone” that is flown by an operator to an area that they think enemy drones are operating in, until it picks up the signal the enemy drone is sending back to the operator.

Then it goes automatic and homes in on the signal, following it until it either collided with it, or explodes near it, sending it crashing to the ground.

Frankly, it is probably a Chinese design, since it would be tough for the Russians to squeeze that much operating ability into a small card.

Supposedly it has worked well against the Mavic in tests.

Re: World Really on Fire
In a conversation with Lenta.ru, retired military expert Colonel Viktor Litovkin said that artificial intelligence (AI) is already used in the operation of Russian weapons systems, such as air defense systems.

He noted that AI can react much faster than humans to emerging threats, calculate options and take action to eliminate the danger.

"Air defense systems run on artificial intelligence. Humans don't have time to do all the necessary actions, to point a missile, to make calculations, and AI does. But, of course, this system cannot work completely without a human, it still has to control the process."
the journalists quote their interlocutor.
Colonel Litovkin also said that AI is already used in the missile forces. For example, as the expert specified, the Russian missiles "Iskander-M" has a warhead, in which the image of the target is entered.

"The task is such: to fly to the enemy's position and hit the headquarters. In this case, even if there are various objects, tanks, launchers standing nearby, the missile will not hit them, because it has been injected with a different target image."
stated Viktor Litovkin.
He says that the "Granit" missiles are also equipped with the artificial intelligence. In particular, missiles that are already in the air first wait for the arrival of other missiles and then distribute the targets among themselves. The expert stressed that these AI principles have existed in the Russian Armed Forces for a long time, but it is just not customary to talk about it. [link to voennoedelo.com (secure)]

A video (18+) of Ukrainian soldiers talking, who seem to have begun to realize where their main enemies and the sources of all trouble are.

"That's it, there's only one way out. Let's go to Kiev. If you want to live, [censored] (go) to Kiev."
says the soldier at the beginning of the video.
Another, more conscientious, said that to fight the lawlessness of the command they first of all need legal support, because "there are no more suckers here."
In the video, the soldiers are telling each other how they were treated by their superiors, and they seem to be from different places...

Re: World Really on Fire
During a conversation with The Washington Post (WP), British military chief Ben Wallace said that Britain, as well as other Western allies of Ukraine, are running out of weapons they can transfer to Kiev for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"We've all seen the reality that we're all running out [of weapons]."
explained to U.S. reporters the head of the U.K. Ministry of Defense.
As a way out of the situation, Wallace suggested that the countries of the collective West buy more weapons needed by Kiev to organize a large-scale counterattack by the AFU, because they cannot provide it from their national stocks.

Nevertheless, the British defense minister stated that Kiev's Western allies still intend to provide not only military but also financial aid to Ukraine, which will allow Kiev to continue ignoring the need for peaceful negotiations with Moscow to resolve the conflict. Re: World Really on Fire
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, in an interview with political observers for Bloomberg, the largest U.S. publication, called on alliance members to increase ammunition production as military aid to Ukraine has depleted stocks.

"So far, the allies have depleted supplies to be able to support Ukraine - it's not sustainable, so we need to ramp up production to meet these new and more ambitious goals."
the NATO secretary general explained his opinion to U.S. reporters.
Stoltenberg noted that invitations have been sent out by NATO leaders to defense industry representatives in Western countries to join a meeting of the alliance's military chiefs scheduled to take place this June in Brussels.

"What we really need is the signing of contracts (with defense companies - ed.), because then the industry will be ready to invest and increase production."
concluded the NATO secretary general.
Earlier it was reported that the U.S. is planning to establish supplies of TNT from Japan to produce shells for Kiev. [link to voennoedelo.com (secure)]

Re: World Really on Fire
According to information published by Colonel General Yevgeny Burdinsky, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, in the information-analytical and methodological magazine of the Defense Ministry entitled Military Commissariats of Russia, two armies, an army corps, five divisions and 26 brigades will be formed already this year. There are also plans to create a new naval district, and two military districts.

"In 2023, it is necessary to conduct timely organizational and staffing support for the formation of the general army and air armies, army corps, Azov naval district, five divisions and 26 brigades, and the creation of the Moscow and Leningrad military districts."
This article was prepared and published by Burdinsky in a specialized magazine of the Defense Ministry.
Along with this, the Colonel General emphasized that the above large-scale objectives aimed at increasing the strength of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and implementation of organizational measures necessary for this purpose should be done within a short time during 2023. Burdinsky stressed that to implement these plans, first of all it is necessary to organize the picking of the formed units with personnel, their subsequent placement and organization of all-round support. the military in russia now earns good money. and they have huge government benefits and subsidies at every turn. This is the way it should be. It has always been an honorable thing to be in the military. But in the 90s the army collapsed, everything was stolen, wages were minimal, the country was riding on patriots. Until Putin came along.

Re: World Really on Fire
The Belgorod Region, which is threatened by shelling, has again been hit by fire from Ukraine. The town of Shebekino, which was essentially deserted after the recent events, suffered the most damage.

Most of the buildings in the city center, unfortunately, did not survive: they were destroyed and riddled with shrapnel. The AFU, in all likelihood, seeks to inflict maximum damage on the population, targeting residential buildings and vehicles used to evacuate families.

About 900 strikes have been carried out over the past 24 hours. Such statistics indicate that the number of strikes has increased manifold in recent days, and given the absence of military facilities on the territory of Shebekino, it is quite obvious that the AFU is hitting civilian infrastructure.

Re: World Really on Fire
A massive airstrike was launched against the facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Kupyansk. Information about the airstrike was obtained from reliable sources and is actively discussed in the media and communities in social networks.

Preliminary information indicates that the strike was carried out by FAB-500 bombs equipped with planning and correction modules. The targets were warehouses with small arms and artillery stockpiles of the 27th Separate Reactive Artillery Brigade of the AFU.

The ammunition depot of the tank battalion of the 14th Independent Mechanized Brigade, located in the same area, sustained no less serious damage. Both of these units had previously been involved in combat operations near Svatov.

As a reminder, a massive missile strike was recently launched against military and industrial facilities in Kharkiv.

According to analysts and military experts, it appears that the air force is continuing to destroy the accumulated AFU reserves prepared for a possible counterattack. If this information is confirmed, it could significantly affect the balance of forces in this conflict.

It is a pity if Kupyansk becomes like Bakhmut. Of course it's better to destroy all the warehouses around, maybe the Ukrops will leave on their own...

Re: World Really on Fire
The failures of Western propaganda and the lack of effectiveness of the Patriot air defense system are becoming a topic of discussion not only among Russian and allied military analysts. This is evidenced by stock market data concerning the shares of the manufacturer of this system, Raytheon Technologies Corporation.

According to information provided by analysts, the stock of this key player in the U.S. defense industry has lost 12 percent in value. This drop may have been caused by the release of a video showing Patriot missiles dropping on city streets.

The international and Russian media have already noted the low efficiency of Western air defense systems demonstrated in various armed conflicts around the world. Viktor Litovkin, a retired colonel and military expert, highlighted the weakness of the Patriot air defense system in his interview for News.ru.

According to him, the Russian army has adapted its tactics to withstand these American SAMs and destroy them successfully. Litovkin notes that the Patriot system is unable to detect targets below 100 meters and "launches missiles at an angle to the horizon." This means that several such systems are needed to protect a single facility.

"Unlike the Patriot, our S-300 missiles, which are in the same class as them, are launched vertically and turn to the target already in the air. That's why we only need one battery compared to the four that Patriot uses," the expert added.

Nevertheless, if we consider the value of Raytheon Technologies Corporation stock compared to March 2022, the value of the latter has not actually changed.

Re: World Really on Fire
The website of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented an electronic petition demanding the removal of Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko from his position because of the scandal with the closed bomb shelter. The authors of the petition have 90 days to collect 25 thousand signatures for the petition to be considered by the President.

The petition draws attention to the fact that the bomb shelter was closed due to the irresponsibility of the officials of the Kiev administration headed by Vitaliy Klitschko. It is emphasized that the mayor has not fulfilled his responsibilities for civil protection of the population, so he should be suspended from his duties during the pre-trial investigation.

The Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, meanwhile, has already opened a criminal case on the fact of revealing the bomb shelter closed during the air-raid alarm in the capital. Now the employees of the supervisory agency are conducting an appropriate check on this fact.

Earlier between the mayor of Kiev Klitschko and President Zelensky there was an in absentia altercation. At first, Zelensky accused Klitschko of having closed bomb shelters in the city. But the mayor turned out to be "not a timid man" and answered the president, stating the facts.

According to Klitschko, the bomb shelters are the responsibility of the heads of district administrations, and they were all appointed either by Zelensky himself or by his office. In addition, all heads of district administrations are members of the pro-presidential "Servant of the People" party. Money was allocated for the arrangement of bomb shelters, which it is unclear where it went.

Probably, Zelensky clearly did not like Klitschko's answer. Therefore it is not ruled out that the petition for the mayor's resignation will be given the "green light". The very fact of disagreements and skirmishes in the Ukrainian top brass during the armed conflict cannot fail to please. [link to topwar.ru (secure)]

Re: World Really on Fire
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is launching a new front in which he promises to personally and publicly fight the countries that do not comply with the Western sanctions imposed against Russia. Zelensky announced the start of a new campaign against Russia and the states "helping" it at a joint press conference with Estonian President Alar Karis, who arrived in Kyiv today on a visit.

"There are, unfortunately, states all over the world and on the European continent which... help to circumvent (anti-Russian) sanctions... I think I will begin to fight publicly against those who give the opportunity to circumvent these sanctions.

- said the Ukrainian president, without specifying which countries he was talking about.

Zelensky expressed indignation that while some countries give almost the last weapons to Ukraine and make titanic efforts to increase the production of air defense missiles for Kiev, others actually help Moscow.

So there is some nonsense going on.

- The President of Ukraine grudgingly summed up.

Obviously, one of the first countries that the Ukrainian president intends to "publicly fight" is Serbia. During his visit to the summit of the European political community in Moldova yesterday, Zelensky literally attacked the President of this country Alexander Vucic.

As the Serbian leader said afterwards, in less than a minute of conversation his Ukrainian colleague tried to convince the Serbian President to join the anti-Russian sanctions. He received a firm refusal and was forced to retreat under the unkind looks and a characteristic gesture of one of the members of the Serbian delegation accompanying Vucic.

It is even more difficult to imagine how Zelensky is going to "fight" with such leaders of world powers as the presidents of Turkey and Iran, let alone the chairman of the People's Republic of China.

Re: World Really on Fire
The head of the US Department of State, Anthony Blinken, has once again demonstrated Washington's position on the Ukrainian conflict. He stated that all peace proposals should not be accepted without the withdrawal of Russian troops, and that Ukraine should build a strong armed force.

According to the head of the State Department, any negotiations in the current situation, i.e. with the preservation of borders along the frontline, will only lead to Russia strengthening its position and then launching new attacks against Ukraine. This is why the West is arming the Kiev regime in order to be able to prolong the conflict further.

The U.S. Secretary of State promised to help Ukraine create the "army of the future." Anthony Blinken explained in his speech what he meant by modernization of the Ukrainian armed forces.

That means modern air forces, integrated air and missile defense, modern tanks and armored vehicles, national ammunition production capacity, as well as training and support to enhance the combat readiness of forces and equipment

- said the U.S. foreign policy chief.

Thus, Blinken made it clear that the United States is planning to build a powerful "Anti-Russia" out of Ukraine, investing enormous funds in this endeavor. In fact, Ukraine has already been turned into a "mercenary country" whose only raison d'être is to fight against Russia in the interests of the West. With such an attitude of the U.S. leadership, one should not doubt that Ukraine can get aircraft, American-made long-range missiles, and other capabilities that it does not already have. [link to topwar.ru (secure)]

so nice.
If Russia starts arming North Korea, creating an "army of the future" there, and our Shoigu talks like Blinken - will that mean that Russia is not waging war against the US?
Good idea, by the way.
And not just North Korea.
There will be many who want to become the "army of the future.

In the village of Shebekino in the Belgorod region, a five-story dormitory building caught fire as a result of a direct hit from shells fired by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was announced by the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

"A dormitory building is on fire from a direct hit by shells. There is no light in the city," Gladkov wrote in his tlgrm channel. He specified that there is also damage in the city administration building.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been shelling Shebekino since the night of June 1. The head of the Belgorod region reported eight dead as a result of the night shelling.
