In the course of a special military operation, Russian troops will use a wide variety of air and missile defense equipment. Among them is the S-350 Vityaz SAM system, which allows it to solve a wide range of tasks, including those of defeating unmanned and manned aircraft and missiles of various classes.


RIA Novosti published an article citing an unnamed source saying that this system was the first in the world to shoot down (Ukrainian) aircraft in fully automatic mode during air defense.

In the "automatic" mode, targets were detected as well as escorted and then destroyed.

A statement from an unnamed source said that the Vityaz SAM system in the same mode carried out the destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles of the AFU.

The combat crew did not interfere with the automatic operation of the complex, while monitoring the operation of the S-350. It should be noted that by not interfering with the very operation of the SAM system, the combat crew actually confirmed the correctness of the solution selected by the complex's artificial intelligence and its further implementation by the "Vityaz" automatic system.
