According to Reuters, the USS Gerald R Ford, the world's largest and most expensive aircraft carrier in the history of the US Navy, has arrived in the port of Oslo. The ship will stay here for a few days and then will go to the exercise "Arctic Challenge", which will be attended by about 3,000 troops from 14 countries.

According to the representative of the Joint Staff of Norway Johnny Karlsen, this visit will become "an important signal of the close bilateral relations between the USA and Norway".

Recall that the USS Gerald R Ford was laid down in 2009, and was put into service in 2017 after several postponements of that date. The cost of the ship is roughly $13 billion. [link to voennoedelo.com (secure)]

Wow!

It's powered by nuclear reactors and it has nukes onboard. How much do you think the Russians want it hanging around their Arctic North? Expect tons of sorties and a strong response from Russia to this.
