Good luck with the trolls. They are relentless on my Ukraine update threads if I open it up to ACs. Maybe it is justme. :)

It is a shame, because some of the best content comes from the ACs, but a few professional trolls ruin it.

Regarding Chinese troops in Ukraine, that same video has been making the rounds. It is video of the Vostok22 Military joint exercises that concluded about 10 days ago in far Eastern Russia.

If China was really entering into the Ukraine, they would come with a lot more than 6 tarp covered trucks and a fuel truck.

And it would be on hundreds of videos, and thousands of armored vehicles and missile launchers would be driving thousands of miles to get there. Pretty sure that would end up on social media.

I am sure CHina would like to get their war machine some live fire experience and some real world feedback. Putin is just being cautious, trying to keep this conflict from turning into WWIII.

Best of Luck.

IMHO, no way China gets involved in Ukraine. They've got their hands full with taking over Africa and preparing to invade Taiwan.

damned

Their military needs to be tested and given some experience before they even think about taking Taiwan with the US pledged to defend.

I don't think they will try anything unless they can participate in a live conflict first. AN untested army is like buying a gun and never taking it to the range and firing it. It cannot be relied upon as it is an unknown quantity.

China has already made the offer to Russia to send troops etc, but no evidence that this is happening. Again, Putin is being VERY restrained in all of his actions in Ukraine.

Not sure all the reasons, but I think there are 2 main ones:
1) he does not want to kill or harm the Ukraine civilians, just their NAZI army. and
2) trying to prevent WWIII which involving CHina would likely instigate. NATO and the US would jump in with all 4 feet at that point. Russia will lose that battle, and switch to nukes to survive, and all hell will be unleashed.

Not the good kind of hell. The bad kind. :)

Thanks for those Mearshimer vids. I disagree with what he said in the first one - US needs to defend Taiwan - because the costs are way too high for the US to go war against China, and that's what it would be. I agree with everything he said in the second video.

Where did you read that China offered to send troops to Ukraine?! I've not seen anything like that and their position has been 1. opposing the invasion and, 2. blaming the US and, 3. calling for a peaceful resolution.

Good question, I will have to search my memory a bit and find the story.
It was fairly recent. A bit before the time Putin attended the Shanghai summit of nations, whatever it is called (Shanghai Cooperation Organization, SCO).

Maybe it was the Xi birthday call?

During the SCO summit, Xi actaully was pressing Putin to end the war. Putin gave it as much lip service as he could manage.

Maybe I dreamed it. LOL.

Here Bloomberg says while they have pledged a mutual cooperation "without limits", they do not believe China will provide military aid to Russia.
