A representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Vadym Skibitskyy, has said that Russia might use nuclear weapons during an air defense operation.

Ukrainian intelligence: "Russia may use nuclear weapons against the Armed Forces".
"It is possible that Russia will use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. They will try to stop our offensive and destroy our state," the head of Ukrainian intelligence said in an interview with ITV News.

He noted that this is a danger for the rest of the world. Allegedly the explosion of tactical nuclear weapons could affect not only the Ukrainian territory, but also the entire Black Sea region.

"We remember the history of Chernobyl. We may have another catastrophe on our territory, in Eastern Europe," said a high-ranking Ukrainian serviceman.

The consequences of weapons of mass destruction will affect Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey and other countries, Skibitsky listed.
