Vzglyad.ru reported on a statement by Estonian Prime Minister Kaija Kallas, who warned residents that they would have to solve their own problems with the lack of electricity. She urged government agencies, businesses and households to work out in advance how they would cope with their needs during blackouts. This should be taken to mean that there is no point in Estonians waiting for help from the government.

Kallas, in her usual manner of western politicians, immediately identified the culprit of future problems - Russia. The Baltic states are interconnected with it by one energy network, but have long ago promised to get out of it by 2025. They are afraid that Russia will be the first to take such a step, which was voiced by Callass as a possible reason for the blackout.
