MOSCOW, 23 Sep - RIA Novosti. More than 60 real estate and other assets worth $500 million have been arrested at Russia's request abroad despite the tense international agenda, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said.
"At the moment, despite the tense international agenda, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office is ensuring and controlling the retention of more than 60 items of real estate as well as financial assets in an amount equivalent to half a billion US dollars by the competent authorities of foreign states," Krasnov said in Astana, where he discusses with colleagues from SCO countries the return of illegally withdrawn assets from the state.
"Speaking directly about the recovery procedures, which have the ultimate goal of returning the financial assets illegally withdrawn from the country, I must emphasize that, above all, it is a joint work of the prosecutor's office, investigative bodies, operational services, financial intelligence, banking and fiscal control," the Prosecutor General added.
