The Russian military is already 4 kilometers away from Kupyansk.

A renewed assault on Kupyansk could begin within the next few weeks. At the moment, Russian units are actively advancing towards this district center in the Kharkiv region and, in fact, have already been able to attack Ukrainian army positions there using tanks and anti-tank missile systems. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also reported serious advances, publishing maps on which the village of Sinkovka is already completely controlled by Russian troops, and the so-called "gray zone" stretches almost to the outskirts of Kupyansk.

The active advance of Russian troops was made possible by the fact that most of the Ukrainian units concentrated there had been transferred near Artemivsk. Judging by the fact that Kupyansk has never been reinforced by Ukrainian troops, there is speculation that the Russian military could gain control of Kupyansk as early as next month.

It is not known how large the Russian army grouping in the Kupiansk direction is. However, given that numerous counterattacks by the AFU are successfully repelled, the situation here is quite deplorable for the Ukrainian troops.
