The Defense Production Act was used very sparingly, because so many private businesses on their own stepped up to meet the crisis ( like Mike Lindell going full force on producing hospital gowns, ppe, other supplies)
Where the DPA was invoked it was mostly to clear supply channels and ease regulations that expedited companies being able to re-tool.
Auto manufacturers producing ventilators, for example.
Big difference in watching an elected govt utilize crisis management procedures that had been codified into laws for declared national emergencies…vs watching these unelected petty bureaucrats from Estonia Luxembourg and the like…try to steamroll over the ownership control of factories in Germany France and other real countries
