I was just telling my man today how if we had more space I would love to get chickens. My favourite birds to scare are the doves, they really do seem to enjoy it! They fly right back in 2 seconds and then somehow even more show up when I scare them than if I don’t.

We used to have a black rooster. I named him "blackie Chan" because this jerk was possessed.. he would wait till you turn your back and fly at you with his spurs. He loved attacking. I would test him. He waits till you turn around to slowlllyyy inch his way towards you and when you look he stops. Then you turn back around and he's there again.

We got rid of him a long time ago. He was demented and wouldn't leave us alone. He had a brother too. His bro was just as much of a trouble maker.

I don't see how scaring birds is fun. I'm not judging but it seems a bit mean. I talk to them and soothe them because birds are on edge anyways. They talk back and help me, they broke the hypnosis I was under.
The cardinals trust me enough to teach their baby to fly while I watched from my porch. She is big now and was thrilled to show me how well she flies now.

In all honesty I do dislike the roosters. If they don't give the hens food and be nice at least while I'm around..... then their time is very short.
I have one rooster that is good and he's my fat boy Augur.
I don't kill things, it's not my purpose. I can either heal or kill I can't do both so I choose to heal. But in a horrific accident I chased a rooster away from the hens he was being mean to and he was hit by an 18 wheeler right in front of me. I was shaken and was very sorry, but ya know?

Yeah I get you. I dont hurt our chickens at all. Just the thrill of scaring them is too much fun.

Our rooster we have now is a good boy. He's beautiful and red. He's super protective of the hens. We had others before who were mean as hell and wouldn't let the others eat.

I prefer to keep my chickens overly trusting to the point that they scurry around my feet and like getting picked up and petted .

That way if they need medical care it's easy to take care of them and if I want to eat one they pretty much put their head on the chopping block without a hassle .
