Living in this area, I know it has had the fewest direct strikes anywhere on the gulf or east coast. Maybe our number is up, but where can you live that's "safe".

No where is safe. Other places have earthquakes and tornadoes. At least we can see a hurricane coming with plenty of time to prepare.
