Yup, I have to agree. My ex-husband wanted out after 14 years when our son was 13. He came to live with me during his teenage years. He had a lot of issues and anger at his father. He’s 27 and doing ok now, but still has anger and grudge issues against his father, against me, etc. He got mad and moved to another state, and I haven’t heard from him in 2 years. I only know he’s ok from his brother.

My husband and I are old now but in every case of divorce we have seen the husband was a self centered entitled jerk who never did his share of the work , thought he did everything and complained constantly. When I was "poor" as a child, .gov assistance meant that you could only get certain foods, had to show the stamps at the store, and only got things that were donated to you. God forbid the clerk at the checkout line was new and didn't quite know how to process the food stamps. Then the call over the intercom came "need help with food stamps on aisle 5"

As a child, I KNEW that wasn't going to be what I wanted. I was going to do something else. And we did NOT get into major trouble, because DAD would "kick our butts" if we did.

Yes, I know a person whose daughter wanted kids, so they went the IVF route - no husband. These kids will never know their father and I think it selfish of her. If she wanted to raise a child, there are plenty out there up for adoption.

That said, I still think a single Mom can raise an adjusted kid, but they must put the kid first, teach them about God, right vs wrong, self-respect and decency.

As for a guy decided when to have a kid, most men are as selfish and decadent as women and ignore the children they have.
