Rosh Hashana Jupiter comes closest to earth in 70 years on September 26th..

My favorite target for telescopic peering, and close means detailed. I'll be out there. Sometimes I see a moon of Jupiter pass over the surface casting a tiny shadow on the clouds.
It gives the view a 3D effect and I stare for a while.
