Or you know you could use that money to help actual citizens of your country get back on their feet and start paying taxes again or better yet you could just keep the money and not give it to the government.

I used to get an annual thanksgiving invite to a (former)friend's place, til the subject of refugees came up and I asked if they had the resources to take care of them, while also mentioning the vital question, 'what about our own countrymen/women who need help; shouldn't we help them first, esp. the veterans that make up at least 1/4 of all the unhoused?" everyone fell silent, my inquiry fell on deaf ears, and no more holiday camaraderie with me.

Look at how people choose neighborhoods....its safety, cleanliness, schools, city services. And most of those good conditions are found in Conservative run communities.
