Where is the Moon? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 73266533 Mexico 09/29/2022 10:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I DID see the moon tonight after not seeing it in the early night late evening for about 2 weeks. The only problem was that the moon was 180 degrees from where it normally is in the sky prior to September 14th. So instead of seeing it in the east rising it was ACTUALLY in the west falling. It fell behind the trees and was out of sight within an hour and a half or so after sundown. Not recommending a 9/11 level conspiracy on this one but I do have a lot of questions. Quoting: Geoengineering watch guru Please learn about how moon phases work. The Moon rises and sets about 50 minutes later each day as it progresses through its phases. Always has. And it goes from its furthest North to its furthest South AND BACK every month. So there is no "normal" position to see it in. It will be in a different position every day. But why ?. I was taught that the moon is in a locked orbit. Tidally locked means it shows the same face to us as it rotates once for each orbit. Its orbit takes nearly a month. We see it every day because the Earth rotates too. The combination of the two means the Moon rises and sets about 50 minutes later each day. When full it rises around 6 pm and sets around 6 am. When in last quarter it rises around midnight and sets around noon. The new moon rises about 6 am and sets about 6 pm. First quarter rises around Noon and sets around midnight. There will be variation based on your latitude and where you are in your time zone but those are a good rule of thumb. |

Now you are just bitter. I’m not sure you are even aware that formidable minds are saying we are looking at an astral disaster. The moons orbit is changing along with earth’s and the rest of the solar system. You idiots can't even understand why you wouldn't necessarily see the moon at night, but you think you're such "formidable minds" that you can just "intuit" that the moon's orbit has changed in some unexpected way without any quantitative data to back it up. Unlike you, I actually do my homework, I created a spreadsheet for predicting the position, phase and orientation of the moon years ago using lunar tables that are decades old. They still work. Ergo, you're dead wrong. What the hell does ergo mean? Speak English |

Tonight was similar to last night. I kept seeing starlike dots of light on the silhouette part of the moon which was the majority of it because it was a sliver tonight. And this wierd blue hue that kept appearing on the left side of that silhouette that look like some strange light breaking through in a sense. Just my 2cents from observing the night sky for a couple hours. Again, no telescope, no conspiracy, just observation. Keep an eye on your night sky. Goodnight and good luck. I get that many things have changed here but I always thought that the old regulars would help pull us through the incoming s**t. My mistake. Astromut has always been a consistent douche and thinks space is all real in the media because he’s low IQ. By HIS Grace Alone. |
