Chuck Missler (RIP) disciples claim that in John 8:24, Jesus is claiming to be the "I AM" from Exodus.
That's wrong.
1. Here's the verse. The 'he' isn't in many manuscripts.
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am (he), ye shall die in your sins.
2. Jesus is ACTUALLY refering to John 3:16. It says to 'Believe in the only beggoten SON'.
John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3. The real 'connection' verse is John 8:28.
Jhn 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them,
When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye
know that I am he,
and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
4. 'I am he' = 'son of Man' = 'Son of God'
.....
Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD John 8:24 sounds like a threat. What would you think if you received a letter with this verse that was signed by Al Capone?
