I have learned over the years that it is imperative to keep the sinuses open, or you get a blocked sinus passage and it gets infected immediately. So I was eating Benadryl left and right to keep the sinus open. BUt I had so much sinus drainage that I walked around with a beach towel and blew my nose into it constantly until it got too gross, then got a new towel and tossed that one in the laundry. I was filling up 2 beach towels a day with snot. Never seen so much nasal discharge in my life. (and I always have allergies). If someone isn't used to fighting to keep their sinus clear, it will simply plug up and give a massive pressure sinus headache or maybe an ear ache. Its just the first receptive tissue that the virus infects. The body is smart and tries to flush it away.
