You can't. That's not the issue.

You are given an equalizing weapon to defend against someone who will, if allowed, tell you what to do and what you can and cannot have. At the point of warfare, the opposing party has determined your death as inconsequential to a higher objective. The military does not want nor would it benefit from people who "don't mind". These people usually are ignorant of the realities of what that truly entails and would kill themselves if ever placed in that situation.
