The lion always seemed a little ghey to me anyway. I barely remember the original, but I don't recall many "everyday" folks in this story other than Dorothy herself.
Witches, lollypop kids, a lion, a scarecrow, a tinman, monkeys, and some dude in the closet...errr behind a curtain.
