They probably don’t want people prepared for anything hence making fun of preppers. People would not be having fun after an emp when so many rely on electricity. At least have a basic bug out bag and food and water for month. Even a couple of weeks would help. Have a few things in your car in case you are stranded. At least some good walking shoes, water and a blanket. It’s insurance you hope you never need.
