My wife and I raised 6 kids together. 3 hers 3 mine. Yep, we've heard every Brady joke out there. The kids are in their 30's and 40's now. It was an interesting experience that I'd do again.

I have always believed that what makes a family is the common set of values, not the sharing of genetics. Someone not related can be a much more loyal partner than a blood brother or sister. So yes, raising some child who was given life by some other man is a noble thing. And God call His children adopted children. Did you know that an adopted child has a particularly important value to a family in Hebrew culture? The parents chose that child to be theirs and that is a big deal.
