SInce my last attempt went nowhere near what I wanted to cover...welcome to the kindergarten of GLP at times...fer fox lake, here is what I was looking at

'....prevents the candida (or any parasite that uses chitin) from forming a biofilm or shell. This renders them defenceless...'

Dr. Hulda Clark was onto something, OP and crew are onto the extension of that. I'd get into the psycho-spiritual battle of it all personally, but that is a bit 'out there' for GLP these days. Let's just say I've 'spoken' with a few plant/fungal medicines and they have voices of their own. The poisonous ones do as well, but they are far more subtle. If you you do a search on the 'prayer thread Part 3' (part 2 was my own), and search the thread for 'whispers' you'll get the gist of what I mean.

The speculations on spores being able to traverse interstellar space isn't nonsense. To see a (albeit cruddy) movie which mentions this watch Dreamcatcher. Yes, our planet has decomposers (primary in many instances) which are fungal, but there appears to be...more going on in the fungal world then we know. There is a reason why each species of fungi produces anti-fungal chemicals at the tips of their mycelial strands. I happen to be strong in this area. I know people. And had a mushroom product for a lng time.

I'm able to purchase some "10:1" extract brands here in Australia including the NOW brand, I've bought stuff from NOW before. The problem for me this time around is that all of these 10:1 oregano oil extract supplements I can find use gelatin (sometimes spelled gelatine) for the capsules, as a vegan I'm unable to eat products made from animals, technically even vegetarians avoid gelatin as its taken from reprocessed animal flesh. I would suspect this is a huge problem if you have test subjects in India, as I know most Hindus wouldn't be allowed to consume gelatin derived from cattle, and gelatin most often is derived from cattle, and yet I can't really find any 10:1 oregano oil supplements that aren't using gelatin.

The brand I've linked to ('herbsofgold') manufactures their oregano oil pills in Australia but they don't label them "10:1", they only mention a minimum 80% cavracol content per pill, so I'm trying to establish whether this pill could be used on this regime, as I'm eager to get on the regime, and I'd like to know how many pills you guys think I should take.

If you could answer this, I think you'd be helping more than just me, there are many vegans and vegetarians and others who would want to avoid gelatin capsules, and this brand I've found seem pretty established and decent. I appreciate the work you guys have done studying this issue, but I think the average person like myself can have trouble wrapping our heads around the amounts and portions and so on, more clarity on this would make it much more accessible to others getting started.



I've now contacted them and they've told me that they obtain the oregano oil via steam distillation. They explained that for every 100mg of oregano oil, they have emulsified it with 150mg of olive oil, this ratio is apparently important in diluting the oil so that it doesn't irritate the stomach lining.

They do contain a minimum 80% carvacrol per pill. Your regimen calls for 600mg of Oregano Oil a day (300mg in the morning, 300mg at night), so 3 pills in the morning and 3 at night should be approximately sufficient, correct? Or am I messing up the amounts here? Or is this form of taking it insufficient?



Thanks for sharing. I'd like to know this too if possible, but I think the pills would probably be better in the end, as taking it orally it can be harder to measure amounts, and having tried it orally it's pretty rough, not impossible but it really is quite strong.

If they say each pill has 80%, and it's 100mg total each pill, it will be 80mg carvacrol. The aim is 100mg carvacrol I believe.

300mg oregano oil has 10:1 basic ratio of oil : carvacrol. Assuming extraction methods do not alter concentration in some way. So a regular oil pill is going to have around 30 if its 300mg.

Dry leaf will contain much less, possibly a 1/10 of oil if I understand the math right.

Hard subject this, there is hardly any oil nor capsule that mentions tq content, and all research I can find gives crazy differences in tq in consumer oils and caps, from stellar to minimal, all over the place.

The above mentioned brand answered the tq content wasn't researched.

How to know what is good, besides the oil having a tang to the taste? Would unfiltered real black oil be considered higher on tq than food grade light gold colored ones? But how to know with caps? Hardly any have standardized tq content.

In EU there seems to be one big coldpresser of the seeds, if I could only find out which it is so I could contact them...

Just got the Black Seed oil yesterday. Was already taking the oregano oil and NAC as I had them already. Adding the black seed oil is damn strong. I took all three on an empty stomach this morning about 20 minutes before breakfast. I felt like my stomach was on fire, cramping and burning until I got some food in me.

Will take right before breakfast from now on.

That happened to me (I've been taking it for longer then I've been on the protocol) at FIRST, and I got bad burps from it. That's gone away. I think it might be a desired effect until it clears stuff out.

Just thought you folks should see this from the Ray Peat forum: "If you take niacin in unphysiological doses, it will mess up your substrate balance. Initially, niacin will significantly depress free fatty acids and enhance glucose oxidation. If you take too much niacin with regards to your current metabolic situation, there will be a rebound of free fatty acids to supranormal levels. If you repeat this to an extreme you'll compromise your ability to oxidize glucose and end up with chronically elevated free fatty acids. You basically end up with the exact opposite of what you wanted to achieve by taking niacin in the first place."

This is why sustained release niacin is not used in the protocol.

I think the study is relevant to all forms of niacin?

One just came out of mine too! Just now. Real surprise. It was real hard. My ears haven't made wax for years. On the LookOutFaCharlie YT channel, he says it's one of the symptoms - not much ear wax then it being restored once cleared. I'm waiting for the left one to drop now :)

It doesn't state which form is used, how much, or how often. Sustained niacin does cause liver problems. Fatty acids are digested in the liver.

Oh I should have read the rest of the thread. Apparently it doesn't happen with Niacinamide. They were concerned with chronically elevated free fatty acids increasing the risk of diabetes.

For EU people; also oregano caps from Zenement are steam distilled, 106gr carvacrol per 150mg cap, 4,5% thymol. I found it on amazon

Forgive me if these questions have been asked, I have just discovered your thread last week, and I am still back on page 11.

My ponderings from page 11:
- Is there a downside to taking more NAC than your protocol?
- Same question with OO?
- Is there a downside to continuing NAC in maintenance?
- Should the NAC-OO-BSO be taken on an empty stomach?
- If not, aside from yeast and sugar, are there any things we
shouldn't be eating with it?
- Do you recommend actions to expedite removal, ie dry brushing,
sauna, enemas, specific exercises?
- Is there any way to stop smelling like a pizza?

Nac protocol amounts are based on safe and therapeutic levels shown in studies. I believe the upper limit was 2200 or 2400mg daily, so we are below that. There is no need to exceed protocol levels and you do so at your own risk.

Oregano Oil can be increased as a test, but always start at protocol levels or lower to see how strong your die off symptoms are before taking higher amounts and do this slowly and incrementally.

Nac is still included in maintenance at lower dosage. At this point most of the repair will have succeeded due to stable guanine levels, repairing quadruplexes and various other fixes necessary for proper function.

You can take the protocol with food. It will likely be easier on your stomach that way. Some claim you get slightly less NAC absorption but it really doesn't matter at that morning dosage.

Avoid leavened bread and yeast extracts in food. Reduce sugar where possible but don't go on a crazy diet. You are more likely to fail.

To expedite results use the brushing protocol and nasal spray mentioned in the pdf. This will speed up your progress.

EU; what seem to be a few good brands for BSO in our parts: Sunnati, Ölmülle Solling and Kräuterland. All own sites and first and third on Amazon(.de) asw well. I ordered bio from the third through Amazon as it was sold out in their shop, and I mailed them for thymoquinone content. Their bio version description claims a 50% "Thymochinon" content...seems German for thymoquinone, right.

Just search, I don't like giving links.

I have also got reply from a Dutch vendor, saffraan360, that says every batch they get is being lab tested at the pressing plant and they"ll let me know next time they get one (why not the previous one, you'd thing, but prolly wanting to sell the upcoming batch). Their stuff is found on Amazon.nl and bol.com under the brand name "Qure natural oil". Had a 500ml bottle from them first time and it was good, unfiltered.

For all I can find, unfiltered seems to give more certainty on good thymoquinone content than the filtered; black vs gold, spicy vs mild, more seed residue so I'd think more chance of wanted active ingredient.

Do you have any thoughts on a protocol dogs? We got a poor guy, who I am now convinced is afflicted, and has it worse than me. We even have flares at the same time.5 different vets at 3 different clinics have been useless, kinda like me.....
