Cousin Intel who works for the county is saying Pinellas county is preparing for 10 to 15 ft storm surge. Quoting: CrazyWhiteBoy Time to bring in tha to'maters yall! Pinellas is to Florida what Florida is to the entire United States, needs to just break off. Meh, there's way worse counties in Florida, that's for sure. Pasco for one |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 81393030 Australia 09/26/2022 04:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We've not had a direct hit here by a hurricane since the 50s I believe, very long time ago. Quoting: Keilani I remember listening to interviews of people that were hit by hurricanes or bad tropical storms, that it was very quiet day before, no birds. Today I have heard no birds, very quiet. I know the indians knew the '28 Okeechobee storm was coming and fled. They could tell my animals I guess, no radar or stuff like that back then. My sister said the bats were acting crazy today. There are bats in a building next to her and they couldn't leave this morning because the bats were circling and acting very aggressive and crazy. The little animals are sleeping. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80257640 United States 09/26/2022 05:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In Polk County. I didn't pay attention to birds. Will do so today. I can say in my own household that we have a cat and a dog acting weird. The cat even allowed the dog to lick her right on the face. That dog usually values his life more than that. Both of them woke me up just a bit ago and it's not 5am yet. I think they feel the rumble down under Cuba somehow. Today I don't mind too much that they woke me early. A lot to do to get ready. Hoping to button everything down by end of day. Being inland has its advantages, but Irma did a lot of damage in my neighborhood last time and it taught me some things to do that I wouldn't have done otherwise. Hope you come out well OP. I'm hoping TECO can keep us running as long as possible as well as internet with Spectrum. But I suppose we will lose both even if it skirts you and heads north. We will still get a storm. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 25330211 United States 09/26/2022 05:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm in Pinellas and a storm a few years back left power out for 5 days. I couldn't find a case of water even yesterday so I'll be out this morning filling up my tank and trying to find water and more shelf stable food for my picky (autistic) kids. |

One day I woke up to see the biggest ants ever, never saw them before, there were about 10 of them going towards my ceiling. I guess they were a carpenter ant. Anyways after that lots and lots of rain came, so they knew beforehand. back in the seventies. a swarm of ARMY ants came through our house on their way to safety before Hurricane David hit. this was on the east coast of Florida and i was a young girl. those ants were huge and mother woke us in the middle of the night because they were flowing through the house. we had to get outside. none of us got bit thank goodness. they knew and were headed to higher ground. (guess they all bugged out) Chipmunks are so fat they look like brown softballs rolling cross the road. S-L-O-W-L-Y And they are normally slim, trim and the fastest things on four feet. Usually just a blur. You can't run over them if you tried. We're going to top off the propane tank. |

User ID: 80034744 United States 09/26/2022 08:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lived most of my life in Florida and while I am not there now I would share these thoughts: 1. The animals before that very deadly tidal wave years back in the Pacific headed for higher ground right before the wave came in. 2. Lot of new people in Florida and while I think the authorities will tell everyone to get out, it will be very difficult to do. 3. All weather is now managed and multiple countries have the technology to do stuff. Dane Wigington is the go-to guy now to understand how this is done and what the ramifications are. 4. The financial markets around the world are falling apart. One can speculate as to whether there is a connection here, will not go into it here but it has to do with occult practices. Peace to all those in Florida. Hopefully those technologies are not used against the people down there. |

I forget which one, we've had so many. I think you may get Ian. Quoting: girlie45 What happened? You mean the birds or bats? I remember hearing when Katrina came through that the water moccasins were acting weird up there days beforehand. And then also there was some strange parade of sea creatures that fled the area and went south along coast of Florida. The birds. Insects were all up on our home, just sitting there, hanging on to the siding for dear life. I think it was the tropical storm that caused the flood of 2016 in Baton Rouge. Saw a bunch of bats over a retention pond heating bugs and all the birds started going and haven't stopped. Plus my two crows that live in the tree out back are sitting on the trailer out front eating the walnuts I left for them. Not saying no doom for Pinellas, just giving my experience of today so far. I'm a realist, trapped in a fairytale. Send help. |

(OP) User ID: 83107670 United States 09/26/2022 09:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Bats are dangerous as fuck. If you get bitten or scratched by one, then you’ve got to go get the rabies prophylaxis treatment. Rabies is a horrible, slow way to die. Never ever touch them or allow them to touch you- people have been infected by the tiniest little invisible scratches. Once the first symptom shows up (backache, flue-like fever, etc) it’s already too late for treatment and 99.9% fatal. Be careful and make sure your kids know to never, ever touch a bat they find. If you ever see a bat behaving aggressively or strangely, call the State Health Department or notify Animal Control. Quoting: _Seraphim_ Thanks for the info. I didn't know they were that dangerous. I knew they had rabies, but I thought it was always curable, didn't know it was that fatal. I don't have any bats here, but I'll let my sister know, she would never touch one on purpose though, she hates them. |

Yeah, I did see a few birds today, and a couple ducks on the pond, but not as many as usually, and some areas were eerily quiet. I guess tomorrow we'll know more. |

Quoting: rob2 i havent heard this bird before so idk what kind it was. it was an awful cry, like a warning, all day long. it made me wonder if he was there to spread the word. In late 2019 there was a weird bird crying all night that I had never heard before, really different. I felt it was an omen, I just knew something bad would happen, and then all the COVID stuff happened. The bird seemed to stop after a while, but then came back at night, felt like it was still an omen, then my mom suddenly got sick and passed away :( I don't think I've heard that weird bird since my mom passed, so I truly feel that was an omen of sorts. |
