Lots of people in NY upset by Red Cross with Sandy. Really Upset. They didn't put much of what they received back into it.

Haiti’s earthquake relief made me to never donate to them ever again.

20 years ago my wife and I were evacuated from our home for 2 weeks due to a huge area fire.

We went to the RC and they asked us what would best serve our needs at the time. I told them CASH, which they gave us.

When word got out that they were handing out cash, everyone and their brother showed up to get some. They had to shut down that program eventually as they ran out of available cash.

Those that didn't get cash were extremely pissed

charity institutions are a mecca for those who want to virtue signal and abuse the reputation.

i once applied, the head honcho had his shit freeze in him.

Everything, EVERYTHING, every last THING is a scam. Don’t forget that.

RIDICULOUS salaries

Its a real shame as people want to help those in need but the organizations you donate to take so much of the funds.

Just like our nation donating trillions around the world ,,, those dollars never make it to the man on the street.

I dont give anything to anyone unless it comes from my pocket and I put it in their hand.

Agreed they sucked for Sandy. I was literally under water and could not even get a fresh blanket living in a muddy house for weeks. I called for rescue or directions or help and they asked for a donation. No help.

I saw they have an app now so maybe AI can do better.

Not to mention they waste lots of food and stuff that's donated

I remember reading a few years ago someone did some research on the various major charities and the only one that didn't steal most of the money was the Salvation Army.

I was a search n rescue op for red cross for years, it's a truly fucked up organsization

The red cross and blue cross could take a flying leap while holding hands.

Samaritan's Purse stuck around much longer than the Red Cross after Sandy hit NJ. They were there on the ground working in our community for months. Red Cross took off after they ran out of coffee and blankets.
