Why did Putin blow up his gas pipelines?
It's easy.
To have an excuse to blow up other gas pipelines supplying
Europe - for example, the Baltic Pipe. Nord Stream 1 and 2
were useless anyway, unused.
But Europe has many smaller gas pipelines that allowed it to
survive the winter and meet its basic needs.
Putin wants to take away the minimum necessary gas supplies
from Europe. They blow up the useless Nord Stream 1/2 Putin
wants to give himself an excuse to blow up other gas
pipelines.
But Putin will miscalculate.
People in Europe are fed up with him and this time they will
not give up on the bastard, risking even a total nuclear war.
And Putin knows that the explosion of the first nuclear bomb
- means that he will have to spend the rest of his life

I'm just shocked anyone believes it Nord 1 and 2 weren't useless. They were a major bargaining chip this winter. Germany would have had to lift the sanctions on Russia or suffer major riots and major fuel shortages. Those pipeline would have been a huge source of revenue for Russia and at the same time break the EU and US alliance. Other EU countries would have followed after Germany. There is zero to gain for Russia...ZERO. You scenario makes no sense, and I don't blame you as it's all the West can come up with. I'm just shocked anyone believes it
