Smart move, Castaway. Electrical grid is kinda iffy anytime. It is the most vulnerable utility that we have. Folks need to go solar, wind, or backup generator to keep freezers going. However, if I lose power, I have enough canning jars to preserve most of it. That, and I have stored water softener salt, and Homer buckets with lids. Have lots of extra propane.
