Obama skips Easter Sunday service for the beach

Yes it happens. Is your life so small and uninteresting that you need to police who goes to church on easter?

He's been going to that church for twenty years. For him to NOT go on THIS Easter is noteworthy. He's doing it to avoid controversy over his hater pastor. Kind of looks like he's taking the 'easy' way out.

I would have more respect for the man if he took a stand one way or the other about his relationship with that group. This way, he's just hoping the problem will go away.

I don't care if he goes to church or not on Easter, it's WHY he's not going that catches my attention.

Good for him. He would do better to skip going to church and just living the gospel of Jesus Christ.



Remember, Jesus preached against the church of his day.

I do not support Obama in any way but Christians should do their homework. Easter (as well as Christmas) has pagan rituals written all over it. Bunnies, colored eggs, yadda yadda...it is a diversion from the real story. And by the way, one DOES NOT have to go to church to be a Christian. Sadly, most churches today have absolutely nothing to do with Christianity. They are about prosperity, materialism and feeling good about yourself.

Easter Symbols

EXACTLY, it seems like to me he is testing the waters to see how bold he can be in talking a talk but then not walking it, yet millions will probably still flock at his feet. Strange!

I haven't been to church in years, and yet I still have faith and pray. A building does not a church make. Your reverence is in your heart. The church I went to was so full of hypocrites, it made me sick.

Why would it matter if he goes to that church or not on Easter, If you were really concerned and following the reports you would know that the pastor in question , Pastor Wright, is no longer preaching at that church, he retired from it.
Maybe Obama will attend ceremonies wherever he is vacationing, maybe he will not, I don't think it should matter one way or another.
And also most of what has been reported about the sermons in question, that has brought him under fire, was taken out of context. It was pulled apart by the MSM and misquoted. You can catch the sermons in full on youtube, and there is another thread on here that has quoted Anderson Cooper from CNN, and he even brought to light on his show that it was all out of context and the pastor was actually quoting someone else when he made the remarks about 9/11.

Here's the link to the other thread, that has the full sermon in text, and at the end Anderson Cooper says that nowhere in the sermon does the pastor say "G_D America". No one is sure what sermon that quote came from, but it was mixed into the clips that the MSM is showing to make it look like he's talking about 9/11 and G-D America all in the same sermon.
For all we know, he could be quoting someone else with that also.

Easter is a day for resurrecting life after a long winter, which many of us have had and has been deadly for many. I love Easter spring is is here flowers are blooming, it is a great day to celebrate life. Got over this pagan shit and celebrate life without judging.

It's a good thing to have some insight into why we do what we do. Since the church and corporations make tons and tons of money off of these "so called" holidays by deceiving the public, it would be nice if the public was at least somewhat educated about the real deal. If you choose to remain gleefully ignorant then don't worry about it. Go color some eggs and shop for that hideously flamboyant easter bonnet. It's all good.

It is significant when a man who wants to lead a country of 300,000,000 people doesn't have the backbone to either stand with his pastor of twenty years, or make a break with him.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHETHER OBAMA IS ATTENDING CHURCH ON EASTER. It's about the way he is trying to dodge the issue of his association with a pastor who has gotten some bad press, and is therefore jeopardizing Obama's chance at election.
