good morning, what's the odds of this slowing down and then getting to cat 2 status?
 Quoting: JAZZz50

I don't think it will do that. I think it will stay at 1 and quickly downgrad to TS when it hits land.

 Quoting: 10001110101

Speaking of shelling. There's an ancient Shell Mound near Cedar Key FL that seems resistant to tropical storms. The last Ice Age or any number of ones before that formed a U-shaped sand dune that aligns to Solstice.

What's peculiar about that is solstice sun moves along the horizon over the wobble period of our planet - but is aligned right now to that Shell Mound. Interesting!!

And fascinating how it's still intact - although it sits 20-some feet above current sea level.

How cool, thanks for posting! I never knew about this place.

My favorite shelling place is Portsmouth Island in NC.

Just so you all know, the Wilmington radar doesn't show the center of the hurricane very well, and here's why:

Ryan Hall is live. Best coverage on the internet.

He has six stormchaser cams in the SC area.

Ryan just said that Charleston EMS has stopped transporting from surrounding areas like Mt. Pleasant due to high winds.

Just got off the phone with mine and she said cell service is getting spotty, but so far she's seen worse daily storms roll through.

I think for the most part it's going too far north of Charleston and closer to Myrtle Beach.

Everything looks copesthetic on our end unfortunately we are having trees come down not due to the wind but the rain, living in a swamp it happens making sure we don't get hit by a Widowmaker, did help the sheriff last night direct traffic took 25min to get another unit out so I can watch the game last night,

Going to my buddies bar downtown Beaufort, see how it's looking
