WTH!! What did this guy see?

yeah...it's common with grand mal seizures. they look over the OPPOSITE shoulder that the seizure occurs on in the brain. Some even appear to swat something. As a nurse, I've seen this many many times. I took care of a child with grand mal who was blind, but it APPEARED as though she was looking over her shoulder before she'd have a full blown seizure.

My question is...what is causing this to happen so frequently? Grand mal seizures that cause this kind of seizure are not incredibly common in the general population as a rule. You only see it with the infants born with it and usually severely head injured people. Grand mal seizures are usually a sign of brain damage and they also CAUSE severe brain damage if they go untreated. Why are so many "normal" adults suddenly having grand mal seizures?

I have my own ideas for sure, but the frequency in the general population is certainly a feature, and should be assessed.

That's not uncommon. I see that happen a lot when security people or store employees are video taping the CCV footage from the store computer via their cell phones so they can share it.

Many large retail stores don't allow employees to login and download footage directly. Sometimes the only way to share and keep your job is recording it off screen via a cell phone.

as one who has experienced multiple grand mal seizures (that put me down just like in these videos) I will tell you that for me personally every single detail of every single moment is etched in my memory. the notion of not being able to recollect anything afterwards, again, only speaking for myself, is the opposite of reality.

First I see one shadow, then right before the video ends it looks like more shadow looking people at the end of the aisle. But at the beginning the person is being videotaped on someone’s phone. Before anything at all happens. You can see their finger or thumb. I think it’s possibly a hoax.

Gyratory seizures revisited

Gyratory seizures (GSs) have been rarely described in generalized as well as in focal epilepsies. They were defined as a rotation around the body axis during a seizure for at least 180 degrees.

the gyratory movement was initiated by a forced versive movement of the head followed by a rotation toward the contralateral side of seizure onset. In 42% (5/12), the gyratory movement was not preceded by a forced head version. In these seizures, the direction of the rotation was toward the side of seizure onset.

Conclusions: The direction of rotation lateralizes seizure onset zone in focal epilepsy depending on the seizure evolution: 1) gyratory seizures (GSs) starting with a forced version of the head ensuing into a body rotation lateralize seizure onset zone contralateral to the direction of rotation. 2) In GSs without a preceding gyratory forced head version, the direction of rotation is toward the side of seizure onset. GSs occur more frequently in frontal lobe epilepsy than temporal lobe epilepsy, while none of our patients with GSs had generalized epilepsies.
