Have always thought it was LBJ who had a hand in it. He was nearly maniacal about gaining the presidency.

Here you see him getting sworn into office as President, just hours after JFK was shot and killed.

I've watched this a lot and at first I agreed and then it was pointed out that it actually is the steering wheel or the other metal showing under is arm that looks like what people are calling a gun. Before the driver turns, there appears to already have been a hit.

I'm just pointing out that Kennedy was shot November 22, 1963, and Khruschev was taken out October 12, 1964 (Cuban missile crisis happened in 1962). So, two leaders taken out less then a year apart. I do believe that preparing for a coup in USSR would take longer. Or may be "they" waited some time to make sure nobody asked any questions.
