A thought came to me:
"if Birds eat worms, then as above so below?"
Regular birds wait for rain to easily grab worms.
Are these invisible birds (simply outside our ROYGBIV) ALL the videos of attacks were outside or near windows. Windows don't stop an entity that's more lightbased than physical. But everything alive must eat.
These flying space birds eat space worms.
Those space worms, which are being pulled out as clots, are possibly tasty food to something.
Just a heads up.

Dragons eat the space worms in upper atmosphere. But there's aggressive competition. Smaller dragons are eating the same worms in people, lower atmosphere, because they taste just like chicken/space worms.
Similar to smaller alligators keeping close to shore. As to not be eaten by larger gators.
