He was my TA in undergrad, and I had the exact same impression of him. Compared with "normal" folks, he was a bit wooden/offbeat at times but always friendly, polite and willing to help. Given this was a senior year applied physics course, the entire class could be said to be wooden/offbeat/autistic or spectrum-based. Witch? Psycho/Sociopath?
