The paradox of romantic relationships.

Generally speaking, you have to be very mature to make romantic relationships work well for an extended period of time. The problem is that by the time you're that mature, you're usually too old to be very attractive. Romance is pointless and stupid if you're over the hill.

I am saying that as someone who had a happy marriage for many years.
