Anonymous Coward User ID: 84337458 Mexico 10/06/2022 08:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've done them a lot - so when I get a high score, it's more just because I've gotten good at them. My original thinking was if I could get better and better at them, my intellect would improve as a result. Like an exercise. It's hard to 'feel' your intellect though and testing it is hard too because part of it is based on experience. Just like with the tests themselves. The more information you have and experience you have, the more power you have in any related intellectual task. It doesn't necessary mean anything significant about your brain. It's more just about the kind of things you are good at, and your information experience. Interest also plays a part in it. I sometimes like solving puzzles. I do it as part of my enjoyment. So an IQ test to me has many 'enjoyable' parts. While for other people, the entire thing might be complete boredom and painful to go through. That also effects your skill. The more enjoyable something is, the better you can be at it, because passion is really what drives the skill and strengthens it - through innovation and efficiency. So, following your logic, jacking off while doing the test would improve your score, huh? |

You just reason the pattern that is missing, or next. It´s easy. Hmm. My opinion is that if people could concentrate, they would get better scores. I think most people get anxious, or bored, or they just rather do nothing instead of doing the test. If you practice IQ tests you can gain 10 - 30 I was told that after the military test Shame to put your intelligence to the service of nation looters. Hopefully you got out of that shithole for YESSIR bots with no brains. So yes I quit the mil years ago |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 48934714 United States 10/06/2022 08:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I failed the test... Your IQ is based off what you know and can answer in a linear fashion. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75594362 I work best in chaos which written tests are not good at gauging The pattern sequence tests section of an IQ test are somewhat good for isolating the order within the chaos though. You still fail if that is the only section you get right.. And doesn't even touch emotional intelligence... The problem with the test is there is a test in the first place. It is a form of control on innovation. Bragging about high scores on IQ tests shows low emotional intelligence. |

I carry the badge with honor, but beware, I can destroy any low IQ with logic. I read people quite well, in a matter of seconds, and sometimes, just when someone talks to me about someone I have never seen, I get info that hasn´t been spoken about them. Sort of like a psychic. When I became aware, I started asking questions just to confirm my information. When I want to cause a stir, I bring one or two things about6 the person that are very personal, and they just leave, mostly. |

It's kind of fun to do the impossible. User ID: 83702605 United States 10/06/2022 08:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have been invited to Mensa many times. I was not interested. What matters is people skills and high IQ does not necessarily translate well. I have no desire to walk around and tell folks I am 150 IQ. It solves nothing. If you pass it high, then you´re accepted. In regards to skills, intelligence is a perfect barometer to gauge how long it will take you to develop a skill to a proficient level. The higher it is, the faster you will master it and move along to another skill. Usually, a smart person above average is expected to have developed a series of skills along the way, that any other normal person would only dream of acquiring after years of boring practice, spending several lifetimes. |

A high IQ is correlated to intellect and capability. Perhaps read The Bell Curve, the evidence and explanation for it are thoroughly covered by Murray. |

A real IQ test is 3 or 4 hours long, has multiple parts, and you wouldn't score the exact same every time you took it. |

There is a 30 point difference between my highest and lowests scores . They are highly unreliable except for Ravens fluidity tests , and operational cognition ( short term memory , pattern recognition, etc ) Gl quantifying a right brained genius . |
