Here are some interesting facts...

1. Any person who has an IQ of less than 60 is legally a "MORON" and "mentally retarded".

2.The average IQ in the Republic of Sierra Leone is 59 - the lowest average IQ for any country in the world. (Remember, many, many people there have substantially below average IQ)

139 but I was drunk when I took it.

The lowest I ever scored was on the Stanford Binet which tends to score 10 points lower than other standard tests anyway. It was a Monday afternoon college class following my Easter week vacation camping in Mexico, then driving back 22 hours straight and going into the hospital Sunday night with such painful dysentery I thought I would die. They had me on morphine all Sunday night and I had to leave the hospital at 6:30 am to get to my 8:00 am math class, stay up all day, and take the IQ test at 4:00 pm. I finished ten minutes before anyone else in the class of 180 students because I just wanted to hurry and go home. I got the highest score in the class, which was just 135, the lowest ever for me. But I was delirious from being sick and awake for the preceding 58 hours. I was in severe abdominal pain and medicated for another six months and almost had to drop out of college. Never went back to Mexico again, lol.

The highest I ever scored was 163 on an IQ test. So probably around 155 is where I hover as an average. But I have to say that as I age (I'm in my early 70's) I can feel brain cells dying and I'm definitely not as sharp as I used to be.

It's been an adventure in loneliness and learning how to relate to others. I have succeeded to a very moderate degree. It's (usually) very refreshing for me to be around other people of high intelligence, and also kids and animals.

I had to learn very early that nobody likes a know-it-all. During my lifetime I have had to create a persona that is just sort of happy go lucky ordinary instead of noticing every damn thing and getting all specific and technical about everything. It's a lot easier now that I'm older and kind of tired. It's been kind of an exhausting life, actually.

I've seen several of these threads in the over 20 years I've been coming to GLP, and 140 does seem to be a repeated average IQ.
