Christians: How can you be judged on your beliefs? | |

People have interpreted scripture differently but the fundamentals of salvation hold true. Beliefs, or issues not related to salvation (non-salvation issues) are highlighted much more frequently than they need to be and usually only sow division. |

Ephesians 2 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. JOHN 3 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. |

Just take the doctrine of once saved always saved. You will find much division among believers on this issue alone and it's just one of several and it definitely is a salvation issue! Since Christ died for all men, yet the theory goes that you must believe this and accept it before you can be saved, once you have accepted it and believed it can you lose your salvation? I would say most probably say no but there is just as much scripture to support the answer of being yes. I haven't seen this topic debated on this forum for quite some time. But for giggles you should start a thread on the topic and just watch the fireworks explode |
