Being a native of the Carolinas and of a certain age, I know my history. Most folks have no clue that the only successful coup d’etat in the US was on Nov. 19, 1898. It was known as the Wilmington Race Riots. The elders used to say the Cape Fear River looked like red dye was in the water. Growing up as a child, this particular topic was taboo and never discussed in public. (Yeah, I’m that old)

In a nutshell, the Democrats didn’t like how conservative (Republican) black folks down in Wilmington were raising themselves and their communities up in businesses, organizations, etc. The media back then, Raleigh’s newspaper The News and Observer owned by Josephus Daniels, was the mouthpiece for powerful elected/appointed officials. End result was the Wilmington Race Riots, which really was the excuse used when it was really about politics that successful blacks held to.

So, here we are coming up on 124 yrs anniversary next month. Will history repeat itself? OMG, I hear some of y’all yellin’ top of your lungs that that shit has already happened. Yeah, yeah, I feel same way but over the past several decades.

I just find it interesting how history really does rhyme at least, or repeats.

THIS IS CLEARLY A LIE. The 2nd to last coup d tat was 1871 when the US became a corporation rather than a country, and lost sovereignty. Thanks to the coward President U Grant.
The actual last coup was against President Trump. This is a fact now and without dispute.
