Oumuamua, UAP and The Galileo Project: In Search of Technological Interstellar Objects
Came across this video of the most recent meeting for the Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton.

The guest speaker was Dr. Avi Loeb, giving a presentation on his views on extraterrestrial life as well as some discussion of the recently announced “Galileo Project” searching for technological interstellar objects.

There was a discussion of “Oumuamua” of course, but what was interesting to note was that it wasn't the first object of interstellar origin detected, it's actually the third. The second one impacted the ocean and there is a expedition planned to recover fragments early next year.

The other interesting thing is the Galileo Project are building a detection system for UAPs using both optical and RF methods.

It is a good effort, but I have some doubts about the resolution of the cameras being sufficient for detection at practical ranges.

At over an hour and 40 minutes, it is a long video, so here's a brief summary with some screen caps of the bits I thought were most interesting.

I've read Dr. Loeb's book, "Extraterrestrial". It's great.

Absolute Bull Shit!

So called intelectual scientists astronomers, kissing each
others backside to theorise meteors as extraterestrial
space craft. Due to some small anomily in just one.

Just beware, these are the same people that endorse climate
change as they move forward to convince you that we need
to reduce our population. Extratestrials will come only
when we exterminate 80 % of the population.

No disagreement about a "mutual admiration society" perhaps going on, but understand that's just how the game is played. These are folks with similar interests, so what's wrong with people being friendly to each other?

Your point about the motives behind climate change are not inaccurate either, you just have to follow the money.

What I find to be an interesting idea here is not that this one object may or may not be an artifact, but the concept that we may be more likely to find evidence of prior civilizations (extraterrestrial or prior terrestrial) by looking for the "trash" left behind than by only looking at the RF spectrum.

The other interesting topic here was the plans for collecting actual data on UAPs and determining what or who they may or may not be. The odds are that they are terrestrial, but we won't know until we seriously look.
