They really, really, need to stop clearing the jungles in the Amazon, African and Indonesia areas of the world. This has been going on for DECADES NOW. Since the 70's. Those thick jungles are the "lungs" of the world and they, more than anything else on this planet (other than China's excess pollution), are responsible for world wide weather. If the wealthy nations of the world would subsidize THOSE countries, to prevent the clear cutting in those areas, you might see some CO2 reductions. It's really that simple people. YOU LEARN THIS IN 9TH GRADE SCIENCE. PLANTS take in CO2 and release O2 in exchange. |

ALL this water comes from Colombia and Peru (Andes). The picture in the article linked by OPie is Tefé village, WAY WAY far from the water origins... this year, these amazonic areas of Peru and Colombia's south, Andes, had less rainfall than usual. Less fires in june-july in amazonic region led to less rain (less particulates to help cloud seeding / water drops' nucleations). Just that. As "pollution" (particulates) become less and less due to the "green" agenda, less rainfalls in the whole world. I'm becoming an expert in identifying bikes'n'boats thanks to GLP |

You people want to regulate nature and force it to your will. It doesn't work that way. In fact just the opposite. If nature is such an inconvenience, then maybe you were born on the wrong planet. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Man was given dominion over all this stuff. We're allowed to manage it, we're supposed to. At least we should try to understand it. That's all fine and as it should be. But there are people who can't seem to grasp that rivers, streams and springs are seasonal. They cycle back and forth throughout the year between low flow and flood. Sure, some years are more pronounced than others, but that's a far cry from the world ending. It seems that so many people are becoming disconnected from the natural state of the world. The slightest change in the environment around them has them freaking out. Excellent hypotheses my friend. Now YOU go prove it. Show me another year in history when ALL OF THESE MAJOR RIVERS WENT OR WERE GOING DRY ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Talk is cheap. Put your money where your mouth is. Go find a year where all these major rivers were going dry at the same time. |

Didn't think it would come this fast. It will mean less and less water cycling on the land. It will look like drought. It was a late spring in the higher elevations this year. The mountains were holding snow in June. 50 Years projected for GSM maybe more. The last ice age had 2 miles of ice locked up from Chicago and north. The sea level was 400 feet lower.
