There would be no society left to use the digital currency come January. Thats dumb.

Citizens did nothing and let it happen to themselves, their families and friends. If one won't stand up for family, what would they stand up for? You mean when the PTB payed everyone more than usual to stay home and made damn sure they could endlessly spend money…… because if they didn't they know their asses would be on the menu inside a few weeks. Being asked to stay home with your bills paid is very different than not allowing people to pay the water, electric or gas bill. That will get ugly immediately because it has to.
