Residents in Southeast Georgia — the Hickory Bluff and Sanctuary Cove areas — were asked to evacuate and shelter in place after an industrial fire at the Symrise plant in Glynn County, according to Glynn County Board of Commissioners. According to Jacksonville Fire Rescue Captain Eric Prosswimmer, the incident happened around 4 a.m. during a shift change. Only six to eight employees were there at the time and they have all been accounted for. The fire ignited one explosion and then two more, Prosswimmer said. The main chemical involved is hydrogen peroxide pinene. Last Edited by Grognak the Ballbareian on 11/07/2022 11:48 AM |
