Never understood how that shit is supposed to work.

Laying off people means that the company is going to perform worse in the near future, not better, because the first to be laid off are always the oldest, most experienced ones. Those who had been keeping the company afloat in the first place, and who can't really be replaced.

It is always the inexperienced, young ones (and, more often than not, the incompetent, but "well-connected" ones) that are left with their jobs intact.

I guess that a company can report lower losses (and, sometimes, even a fake profit) with less employees, but that's just rigging the system, and dumping the stocks on unsuspecting imbeciles who think that mass layoffs are a good thing, financially.

Guess what? No, they're not.

I have no doubt that some unsuspecting imbeciles (with deep pockets) are (once again) going to fall for that same old scam.

Zuckerberg runs the business in to the ground by doing incredibly stupid things like buying back billions of shares of Meta stock before it crashes, and then losing billions trying to bring back VR goggles from the nineties.

Then he scapegoats his employees and dumps them overboard. Shareholders should demand that Zuckerberg be the first to go.

China Uncensored says today that China is building it's own Meta.

It happens because the layoffs slow down the hemorrhaging of cash. Is Facebook still a shit stock and company? Yes, but financially not as shitty as yesterday. The bump will likely be temporary as Facebook continues to make poor decisions and lose money. At some point even the money printers may give up on facebook, and it's stock will reach it's true value of Zero.
