Why haven't they moved Veterans Day to a convenient Monday?

Armistice was signed 11-11 in WW1, that's how we got this date for the holiday, but things like that are easily pushed into oblivion.

It's not called armistice day anymore, so why hasn't this become a handy Monday Federal holiday?


Is it all the ones involved?

Wasn't that armistice signed at eleven minutes after eleven, too?
