Who is suprised. When the US sent their production base and jobs to China, what was left for them to produce. If you don't actually produce much of anything, what can you trade and sell? If the world has nothing they can buy from the US, who else are they going to buy from?

Bush, Sr. wasn't in office until 1989. I recall clearly, just out of college in early 80s and working for a Fortune 500 manufacturing company in marketing, that there was a huge push to off-shore source products from China. We started about 1985. People were complaining about Walmart buying all these Chinese products and they made a commitment to "Buy American" if the US companies could come within 5% of the same product foreign-made. That was also in 1985. So clearly, it was going full steam ahead back with Reagan.

And who was Reagan's VP? Can we say it together? George Bush. Reagan was like Biden now; he was addled with Alzheimer's and he was a perfect vessel for his advisors and handlers.

Yeah with Bush in the VP spot running the show. Reagan didn't like Bush, but he was forced to pick him. They even tried to assassinate Reagan and put Bush right in the prime seat, but Reagan didn't die. He wasn't the same after that and the Alzheimer's started kicking in so they didn't need to remove him anymore.

Yeah that is the thing most still cannot seem to wrap their heads around- the whole false dichotomy of Left vs. Right thing we got going on.
