Churches do not have to marry anyone. The wedding can strictly be religious and restrict it to only man and woman according to their religious beliefs, and the married MAN AND WOMAN can then have a judge marry (legal contract) them.

The pastor being the "officiant" to the legal contract was just a convenience.

I would suggest especially older couples, just get married in a church, not by the state, that way you can draw two Social secuirity checks :)

lol did you even read the Bible? Jesus had to be born of the line of David. The entire Old Testament is about the Birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Son of God.

To my fellow Christians here, don't even argue with non-believers here, you need faith to debate Scripture and from what i read here, many have no faith in Christ. Just proclaim the Gospel. God works through that Word.

To the non-believers here, there is a peaceful, wonderful and true way, Jesus Christ, crucified and risen for your salvation from sin.

The law is intended to make sure the federal Gov't will continue to recognize all marriages performed, whether or not states should make them unrecognized in the event the SCOTUS overturns their prior running on the matter. This was sparked by the Overturning of Roe v Wade.
